Lovin’ these trax from darlings of Spain Crystal Fighters & the USA’s Memory Tapes (That’s a fusion of Weird Tapes & Memory Cassette) Thought they’d go nice with this image on a post. Hope you like?

I’m always interested to hear artists cover tracks that are quite different to their normal style. So I thought I’d slap a few of my favorites on a post. After digging around my MP3 stash, I’ve come up with these two. Bat For Lashes puts a lovely twist on an old Cure track and Bloc Party ‘have a go’ at Girls Aloud!

Hello MP3: Bat for Lashes – A Forest (The Cure Cover)
Influnences – Good or bad?
Perhaps I spent a little too much time being exposed to my older brothers music tastes when I was younger? It seems that I have developed an unhealthy obsession with house, minimal and other styles of 90′s ‘dance’ music. This may be a good thing, it may be a bad thing? It may even be the reason why my fledgling party DJ career never took off last year and I was shunned by my peers for playing a little too much Groove Armada? I suppose the most likely reason is that I was a bit crap! Anyway, take a look at this happy vid by Lemon Jelly it’s really nice to watch.

Two really amazing tracks in my life right now. First is the fantastic ‘My Girls’ (Hatchmatik Disco Bootleg) by Animal Collective. Got goosebumps the first time I heard it. Second up is ‘Room for Two’ by electro singstress Michele Wylen from Portland, Oregon. Find it on her brilliant Demo EP 2006. Hope you enjoy. Lilz x

Fan Death
Fan Death? No, not the South Korean urban legend which states that an electric fan, if left running overnight in a closed room, can cause the death by suffocation, poisoning, or hypothermia of those inside (Nice!) I’m on about the amazing girl duo Dandi and Marta from Vancouver, Canada. They’re a music/art crossover act and very little is really know about them but with this air of mystery they cast a magic blend of disco strings, synths and eerie vocals that will squeeze the dark, romantic diva out of you whether you like it or not.
Jasper Goodall
Jasper Goodall is an English graphic design artist born in Birmingham. His early work is known for the use of concentric circles, rainbows and butterflies. Goodall’s stunning use of silhouette, sex and style define an era of cool and made him one of the most famous illustrators around, setting trends that are still being copied today. But then you knew all that, didn’t you.
